This is the easiest dessert beside you know, fruits. Coming from Asian background and family, our dessert is cut up apples or pears. So I don’t have many dessert in my repertoire or recipe books. But now dessert bars are more and more becoming like a trend among us millennials. One of the hangout places that serves mostly dessert for lunch or dinner in Jakarta Indonesia, called Nanny’s Pavillon.
I remembered eating my very first pancakes, come in rolls with peanut butter filling -crunchy not smooth!, and topped with vanilla ice cream with drizzled caramel sauce.
So doing what I do best with limited resources in my kitchen, I recreated the pancake rolls, with whole wheat bread -white bread would be better, real pancake would be best. Head over to my instagram to see a video on how to make this.
Ingredients:
3 slices of bread
3 tbsp peanut butter (I used crunchy)
1 big scoop vanilla ice cream
2 tbsp of chocolate sauce (or caramel)
Instructions:
- Flatten the bread, then spread the peanut butter on one side of all three slices.
- Make the bread into a roll, spread side in.
- Topped with a massive scoop (or more) vanilla ice cream.
- Drizzle with chocolate sauce, enjoy!
I remember when you posted this on Instagram. I was so in awe, lol. I tried it back then and it really makes a nice dessert.
This is genius!
